About Tyrone Hinton
Brian “Tyrone” Hinton is a Raleigh native, a devoted Christian who attends Mount Peace Baptist Church. His exposure to the streets began when he was nine. As he got older, while living a double life, he wanted to have access to money more quickly without having to work for hours, and he became a drug trafficker. As a consequence, he became a survivor of gun violence with multiple wounds. He’s lost a nephew, a young cousin and too many friends as a result of gun violence.
Tyrone graduated from Sanderson High School in 1991. After graduating, he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served honorably in the Gulf War, Operation Restore Hope and Operation Sea Signal.
Tyrone enrolled in Wake Technical Community College and studied Electrical Systems Technology. In 2015, Tyrone helped establish Team Truth 919, a non-profit community organization in Wake County. Tyrone’s goal is to transform the negative mindset and behavior of individuals in and around the community through Boots.
